The Other Ones were a pleasant, if somewhat minor, band consisting primarily of Australians that had relocated to Germany. Sort of an anachronism, their sound has strong New Wave leanings… but that ship had all but sailed by the time the band got around to releasing material in the post-New Wave world of 1987.

The label obviously had faith in this single, as the video is a posh event with high production values:

‘Holiday’ was the band’s highest charting single, reaching #29 in the US and #4 in Germany.

The sleeve is well designed, but totally inappropriate to the song. The palette, consisting of mustard yellow and rust, does little to convey the upbeat, perky nature of the tune.
